SANTA ANA – A former supervisor at an Orange County animal shelter has been sentenced to five years in prison for sexually assaulting six female jail inmates who were working there to fulfill their sentences.
Frank Bojorquez Jr. was convicted Friday in Superior Court.
Prosecutors say the 55-year-old coerced the victims to have sex with him between October 2004 and December 2005.
He was convicted in April on five felony and four misdemeanor counts of sexual assault and had faced a maximum sentence of 33 years.
Bojorquez had control over the women's work assignments and reviewed their performance.
The District Attorney's Office says the victims came forward independently to report the assaults.
