The SoCal Volleyball Club will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss a low-cost pilot program for girls ages 16 to 18, with registration immediately following. The SoCal Volleyball Club is at 4039 Calle Platino, Suite D, Oceanside.
The cost for the season is $500 ($250 registration and $50 a month from January through May). The season includes 10 tournaments, including the Junior Olympic Qualifier and the SCVA Regional Tournament.
The season consists of two practice per week as well as optional workouts and access to college recruiting resources. Bring proper shoes, water and a parent to sign necessary paperwork.

Youth baseball sign-up is next month
Sign-ups for Escondido Youth Baseball will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 5 at Kit Carson Park. Online registration is available at escondidoyouthbaseball.org.
Registration fees are: Shetland League (ages 6 and younger), $135; Pinto League (ages 7 and 8), $145; Mustang League (ages 9 and 10), $160; Bronco League (ages 11 and 12), $160; Pony League (ages 13 and 14), $175.
League eligibility is based on the player's age on April 30, 2008. A birth certificate is required. All Escondido residents are eligible.
Fees include a $50 snack bar deposit per family, refundable upon fulfilling snack bar obligation.
Volunteers are needed to manage and coach teams. Those interested should fill out a volunteer form.
