The Poway Gymnastics level four and six teams finished third at a preliminary meet the weekend of Oct. 6 in Santee. The level five team took fourth.

Competing in the 13-and-over level five group, Riane Lenzner had the best showing for Poway. She took first in the beam, floor exercise and all-around.

Others with first place finishes in their divisions were Kennedee Bennett (vault), Allison Milano (floor, all-around), Seanna Lechner (parallel bars), Mackenzee Navarro (tied in parallel bars), Brianna Hoben (balance beam), Emily Berlin (vault), Taylor Mumby (parallel bars), Thao Nguyen (vault), Cherokee McFadyen (vault, floor exercise), Kimberly Kunert (balance beam) and Megan Lian (vault).
